In a forest so dark and so deep
I can see the eyes between the treesI can feel the gentle touch from the wind
And I can hear its soothing song.
When I walk this narrow and dark path
I see, I feel, I hear the spirits around me
As they follow me and bring comfort
And when I fall they help me back on my feet again
Yes, even when its dark I know... I am not alone
superb use of the forest as, once again, an extended metaphor for internal struggles, hopes and dreams of the main narrative character!
ReplyDeleteThe idea of 'eyes' watching from between the trees would at first seem to be rather sinister, but it is in fact these 'watchers' that bring a sense of peace and hope to the character.
Excellent imagery though, combined with a fantastic use of language to portray something that is at once cold and perhaps unknown yet consequently ends up as being something familiar and desired!
